Stashing is more than just a dating trick. Because in this case you are already far beyond simple dating. Stashing tends to happen in the phase when you're newly in love and you just want to be happy together. No everyday life, everything new, no problems due to lengthy back stories, you have butterflies in your stomach, you're madly in love and you just want to scream to the world: Look at me and above all, look at my new darling!
And this is exactly where the problem comes. Because he or she doesn't want you to find out about the relationship, to have it all made public, let alone to introduce each other into each other's circles of friends. This behavior is called stashing and of course raises many questions: Why does he/she want to hide me from my circle of friends? Am I just a petty fling?
Stashing is actually bad for both parties, because anyone who relies on hiding their new partner from their own world is guaranteed to have a bigger problem. The only thing that helps is to find clear words and realize that you may not have ended up in the best relationship.
