And is escorting actually a job? The job is about sensuality and eroticism. eroticism is only part of the whole. The demands on women in this area are relatively high.
Escort lady by profession
Business for escort agencies and therefore also for the ladies who work for the escort service have been booming for some time now. But is this activity, which many women - especially those who are studying - enjoy, actually a job?

In the direct sense, certainly no, vocational training does not have to be completed for this. Nevertheless, the demands on women in this area are high.
We noticed this especially in the escort diary , in which life and legal points and requirements are repeatedly addressed.
For many girls, if we evaluate the very different reports, it seems to be a calling. At least the women have to register as freelancers with the local tax office. For this reason one can probably indirectly speak of a profession.
Registering as an escort
From conversations with some of the ladies, we know that registering has always been a problem. The prostitution law came into force in 2002, making purchasable love legal in Germany ever since.
It was only 2 years ago that it was discovered that the women were subject to trade tax when they exercised and also had to pay it. Nevertheless, almost all trade offices refuse to accept business registration in this area. The escort girls are virtually all forced to register with the tax office as freelancers in order to comply with tax obligations.
As a rule, this can simply be done in writing. A little later you will receive your tax number and will be treated like any freelancer. Most women sign up as escorts or hostess.
In 2017 the prostitution law was reformed
Due to pressure from Brussels, the permissive prostitution law in Germany had to be reformed. The change came into force on July 2017. There was a transition period until the end of 2017. There are many curious points to be found there.
In the future, the customer must always use a condom, this also applies to all types of oral techniques. So there is a condom requirement. Condoms have always been used in escorting to protect both the ladies and the customers.
But the new changes are tough. All women who are somehow active as sex workers must now register as such. In addition to the actual tax registration.
They receive a so-called whore pass. A kind of public branding that also applies to escort women . This must be reapplied for every 2 years. For women under the age of 21, the whore pass must be reapplied for every year. But that doesn't work in writing.
A personal interview with the relevant office is required. Unaccompanied. However, it is currently unclear which offices should be responsible for this in the respective federal states. At the same time, the area of work must be named.
The women have to specify exactly which cities they want to work in. In some cases, registration in the individual cities may even be required. But it gets even stranger.
Health advice is now mandatory
Anyone who just reads this quickly will think, why not. People tend to overread it: However, the focus of the new legal interpretation is on advice. The women in escort and other prostitution are not obliged to take part in an examination, but must seek advice in which they are explained what they need to pay attention to during sex in order to stay healthy.
Curious. Understanding the meaning of it all is not easy. Here again, women over the age of 21 have to go there every year. Women under 21, even every 6 months. There they then receive pictures for illustration, condoms for practice purposes and at the end the confirmation of participation, which the law now considers necessary.
If we take a look at the brothels and clubs, 80 percent of all girls are from abroad. Most of them don't understand German or only a little. The health advice then becomes a pure picture show with nodding, without any of the women understanding the whole thing.
What does an escort lady earn?
After the legal requirements, some of which have been added, many are certainly very interested in what you can actually earn in the escort service. We asked agencies and the ladies directly about this.
We were given amounts behind closed doors that clearly told us that we had actually ended up in the wrong profession.
To clarify: Escort ladies can usually only be booked for 2 hours or more. A date costs from 150 euros per hour. Popular ladies sometimes even charge between 200 and 400 euros per hour.
The longer the escort girls are booked, the cheaper the arrangement becomes. A night (8 – 12 hours) costs between 800 – 1,900 euros, depending on the woman. The agency collects 20 – 40 percent of this. Cosmetics, clothing, shoes, condoms and perfume can be deducted from tax again.
Income at a glance
Top escort ladies earn 7,000 – 10,000 euros gross per month. One woman even told us that in good months she earns around 15,000 euros just from accompanying people, which are often travel escorts.
Beginners usually earn 1,500 – 3,000 euros gross per month. Many are between 4,000 and 6,000 euros. It should be noted here that the women do not work like in a brothel and process several men en masse every day.
Life as an escort is much more comfortable. A few appointments a month can be enough to live on.
In the end we are one experience richer: we chose the wrong profession.
