aphrodisiac

Flirt Glossary – Aphrodisiac

The term aphrodisiac comes from Greek and is derived from the goddess of love “Aphrodite” . It refers to a means of increasing or stimulating sexual desire (libido). Using an aphrodisiac stimulates sexual desire.

The ancient Aztecs already relied on the beguiling powers of chocolate and in ancient times, a large portion of asparagus was served on the table if you wanted to add some zest to your love life.

In the Middle Ages, many plants as well as herbs and spices (e.g. nutmeg) were considered aphrodisiacs . Even today, many foods are still associated with increasing sexual desire and are used to create sensual pleasure (e.g. whipped cream, chocolate, mussels, certain spices, ...).

What is curious in this context is the information that the increase in male potency through an aphrodisiac has not yet been scientifically proven (despite thousands of years of practice in various cultures). Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that some foods have a demonstrably positive effect on circulation and blood circulation.
