Benching is anything but nice! Because whoever is banned is literally sitting on the bench. This relatively nasty and unpleasant trick is mainly used in the initial phase of an acquaintance. Sure, because who wants to be put on the back burner in the long run? The person who actively does the benching always gets in touch from time to time, without seeming even remotely binding.
Nevertheless, there is always something hanging in the balance and that is exactly what causes sleepless nights for the weak part of this network of relationships. Because anyone who is given up never knows whether the moment will come at some point when the bench will become the active playing field. Since love is of course not just a game, but can also cause serious heartache and sometimes headaches, this is of course not exactly pleasant.
Banking is a really stressful new phenomenon, especially for the person being benched. Like many other new dating terms, the New German word is derived from English. Bench actually means the bank and it is as easy to understand as it was adopted into the German language. It can happen that this tactic goes hand in hand with so-called hype, for example.
